We at Mountain Equipment have been huge fans of Mont from the very beginning. They have continually produced some of the best quality and functional pieces of kit we see. This cannot be more evident than with their High Altitude Down range.
The Mont High Altitude Down Pants have been refined over years and is built for prolonged use in the worlds harshest and coldest environments. These pants have been used by a number of members of staff over the years who can attest to their quality along with the Australian Antarctic Devision who also use it.
Apart from the obvious things being the boxed wall construction and the amazing quality down, perhaps the most important aspect of the Mont High Altitude Pants would be the Hydronughte XT fabric. This fabric was designed by Mont when they weren't satisfied by anything else on the market for protecting down products. The problem with putting shell on down is that even though they might be breathable, they sometimes aren't breathable enough to stop the down soaking up some of the condensation and thus getting compromised. Mont's own Hydronaute XT is amazingly breathable, keeping the down as dry as possible. It is windproof and waterproof and able to protect you from what you are likely to encounter on anything from 6000m right up to Mount Everest.
